Will Smith. Postać bez wątpienia, która zostawiła swój ślad w historii hip hopu, był częścią legendarnego duetu wraz z DJ JJ. Jak wiemy Willy bardziej poświęcił się aktorstwu, ale o muzyce nie zapomniał. A ta płyta jest tego doskonałym dowodem. Może nie jest to czysty hip hop, dla zajawkowiczów gdzie będziemy słyszeli skrecze, kawałki z przesłaniem itp. Ale jest to kawał naprawdę dobrej muzyki. Muzyki, której słucha się z niesamowitym zaciekawieniem i dużą przyjemnością. Co prawda nie znajdziemy tu (chociaż kto wie) takich hitów-klasyków jak "Summertime" czy "Miami", ale to nadal hip hop z wielką klasą, powerem i potencjałem. Można wiele o tym hip hopie powiedzieć, ale na pewno nie to, że jest nudny. Otwierające płytę "Born To Reign" ma zaleciałości orkiestry smyczkowej, "I Can't Stop" brzmi jak kawałek prosto z hiszpańskiej Majorki. Jak Enrique Iglesias. Tylko kilka razy lepiej. Moimi faworytami są jednak "Black Suits Comin" który ma niesamowity power i właściwie się nie nudzi oraz "I Gotta Go Home", które słucha się tak jakby miało się miód w uszach. Ogólnie cała płyta oparta z reguły jest na żywych instrumentach, zdecydowanie mniej używany sampling.
Dla mnie płyta znakomita, nie w pełni hip hopowa, ale jakie to ma znaczenie, skoro słuchać jej można na okrągło. Może nie ma na niej następców "Freakin It", "Nightmare in my Streets" czy "Gettin Jiggy Wit It", ale nie jeden znajdzie coś dla siebie na tej płycie.
A sam Will? Jak zwykle jego miękki i miły do słuchania głos płynie po równie miękkich, chilloutowych bitach. Do tego zabawne historie, choć jest czas i na powagę. Flow jak zawsze na poziomie. Jak dla mnie wysokim. Doskonała płyta na gorące popołudnia, plaże i do auta. Gorąco polecam!
