They did protect them, and I helped to pay for it. She was talking as if
nothing was being done to protect them. I did not say it was a waste of money.

Nobody wants people to come to blows over the issue. I wish the extremists from
both sides would be more reasonable and stop provoking each other, and then

The only reason people here cheat at exams is (like a lot of things in Poland)
that everybody else does.
I once wasted a few hours helping to mark mock matura English exams, analysing
all the mistakes according to the marking scheme. I got bored when I realised

Working in your MAP
If you work during your MAP you must tell Jobcentre Plus of this

Delusions of Grandeur
I did not know about today's demonstration at the Israeli Embassy until now
(16.35). Since I am in Poznan, it would be impossible for me to get there in
time. Nevertheless, I do have some thoughts. First, it's wrong to call
everything that Israel does "Jewish." There are many Jews who question Israeli
behavior, many who do not live in Israel because they do not like Israel's macho
attitudes and thuggish racism, and many who question Israel's entire "Peace
Through Victory" approach to the problems of the Middle East. There are even
some very religious Jews who believe that the modern State of Israel is an
affront to God, because according to Torah the Jews may not reclaim the Land of
Israel until the arrival of the Messiah. You should look up the organization
"Peace Now" for more about peace loving Israelis and what you can do to help
them put an end to their right wing government.Don't lump everyone together.

According to the television commentators I've heard on the BBC, CNN, and Sky
networks in the last few days, there probably are violations of the Geneva
conventions going on in Lebanon and Gaza, but they are not "Jewish" crimes, and
they aren't the crimes of all Israelis. If there are crimes at all, then they

My friend has shipped a Dell XPS brand new laptop as a gift to me on Jan 4th, 2008 through USPS. Luckily he took insurance on it as that was a priority mail which was supposed to reach in 3-4days though it is not guaranteed. From the next day we started tracking the item it said it was accepted on Jan 4th from Hartford. This was coming to Tampa. We continued tracking daily but there was no change in the status as of day one. We waited for 5 days and called customer care to ask what happened. They took a complaint and gave me a reference number saying someone will call me. No one called until next business day. We again called the Tampa post office to see where the item is and they said they don't have any idea. We went to Hartford post office and they also told they don't have any idea other than they know it is just shipped. This continued for so many days and customer service gave me more than 10 reference numbers for my complaints. We went to psot office personally to meet the guys there.They didn't even bothered to check what happened to the item. Finally this is 21st day and I am going to claim for insurance. Hoping to get at least that. I went through a lot of pain as it was a brand new laptop. How frustrating.

In the days after the tragedy of September 11, while the families
of firefighters and policemen were attending funerals, and the
President was calling for prayers and sacrifice, lobbyists for
GM, GE, IBM and other leading corporations were quietly
approaching their friends in Congress, bearing a wish list with
hundreds of billions of dollars in tax cuts and special favors.

This profiteering in the name of patriotism is on the verge of
becoming law. Consider just two provisions in the so-called
“stimulus” package passed by the House and now being considered
in the Senate.

No Corporate Tax Forever? The Alternative Minimum Tax law
requires hugely profitable corporations to pay at least some
federal income tax each year, no matter how many loopholes they
can exploit. Repealing the law means some of these multinational
companies will be able to pay little or nothing in U.S. income
tax forever.

And even that’s not enough. The companies will get full refunds
of all the Alternative Minimum Tax they’ve paid for the last 15
years! That’s a $833 million taxpayer giveaway to GM, $1 billion
to Ford, $1.4 billion to IBM, and $671 million to GE.

Hiding Profits Overseas. Another unbelievable provision is the
$21 billion tax break that permits banks and other lenders
(including the financial services divisions of GM and GE) to
shelter These corporations would receive rebate checks for 15
years’ worth of federal income tax under the “stimulus” plan
approved by the House.

Whatever Happened To Democracy? Where does the ordinary citizen
fit in this continuing politics that puts the interests of
powerful corporations first? And why choose this time of economic
uncertainty to introduce a massive personal tax cut for the very
wealthiest Americans, which could lead us into years of deficits
as far as the eye can see?

Instead of padding the profits of corporate war profiteers, or
cutting taxes for those who don’t even need it, we should be
looking at a real stimulus program, one that begins with decent
unemployment benefits and health insurance for the hundreds of
thousands of Americans who’ve been displaced since the events of
September 11.

This approach would help jumpstart the economy, by quickly
putting money into the hands of people who will spend it, not
hoard it, and would end as soon as they returned to work.

We must not allow the war profiteers to win permanent tax breaks
by exploiting our national emergency, grabbing now what they
could never get through open political debate in peacetime.

Don’t let these giveaways stand.
