British pop star GEORGE MICHAEL has blasted his cannabis addiction as the "biggest regret" of his life.

The AMAZING hitmaker, who got hooked on the substance while mourning the death of his lover, AIDS victim ANSELMO FELEPPA, admits that although he successfully quit cigarettes, he will probably never be able to give up cannabis.

He says, "I don't smoke cigarettes anymore, thank God. I'm still smoking weed though, but I'm trying to give that up.

"I only started smoking at 30 - that was stupid. I started after Anselmo died and it was the worst thing I ever did.

PARDON ME if this statement did annoy you. I've forgotten the last three amazing months, September - December 2006, in the life of George Michael. May be I'm just too concerned about him and I wish his career to soar high this year and the coming years without any awful issues regarding him. Of course, as a celebrity controversies and intrigues will never leave him. I reiterate, IF ONLY AS FAR AS POSSIBLE.Because I believe those I've mentioned affect his life and career.

George Michael: The B sides collection

I was just thinking wouldnt it be amazing if George collected all his recorded songs that he hasnt released and flog them as a colleciton of Bsides from each of the album sessions.

There are already a bunch of songs that were recorded but not released such as :
1) The Trojan Souls tracks: 'song for Bryan Ferry, song for Aretha, song for Elton' I believe was the quote way back then
2) The tracks recorded for the Older album that were 'just not good enough'
3) The rejected songs recorded for Patience that were allegedly thought too risqué for the album by those execs

I realise that some of these tracks will make it onto the Online FreeGM service that George is gonna launch within his '10 years off' but surely it would be great a couple of tracks from each era bought together for a one off cd that would be very interesting I think.

What do you guys think would you like to see such a cd ?

Being a george michael fan dosent mean that you have to say all his materials are best. Ofcourse the fans have the right to express their opinion in his material or to critisize it. You cannot satisfy ALL the fans with a single. Some like it,some not. I'm not saying that the new single is boring or the waekest GM single ever. An average listner may not like this song. But look at careless whispers or amazing or faith. Even if you've no heard of GM you'll love it. Be honest, I feel that the single is not up to the real GM level. And the video? Not impressive. Atleast if you check the videos of father figure, careless whispers, jesus to a chil..the video has so much to do with the song lyrics. It always symbolizes the song lyrics. But "AN EASIER AFFAIR SINGLE"? Not impressive.

I'm not sure I believe that she's going on Tour with George but anyway..this showed up in an entertainment website and the Daily Mirror today...

I've looked all over the official web site and there is no contact info, and it seems the whole site is now run by Twenty Five Live rather than Aegean. Even the domain name is no longer handled by the people who used to in the past.

Basically, I'm looking for a decent backing track for 'Amazing'. I am surprising my cousin by singing at his wedding and have been taking singing lessons for this (I could not sing to save my life but I am getting there).

The wedding is next month and I am practicing everyday however the backing tracks I have bought from various places are not very good and I wondered if Aegean/George/Management could point me in the right direction. I am willing to pay decent amount of money for the right one too!

1st off thank you for an amazing album. Superb. It was worth the wait.

I respect your desIcion to move on from the pop world but please , please, please make more music/albums. I don't care if it's pop, jazz , experimental opera or whatever...just make music. It's a gift you were blessed with. I don't even care if you tour ( although I would certainly love it ) but the world will always need the soulfull sounds of a George Michael song.

I have an idea. Let's start a story chain about George Michael, told from GM's perspective. I'll go first and then somebody adds to that, and then another person adds to that ... and so on. Okay, here goes:

I have a poem for George Michael which I wrote 2 years ago and I want to share it with you, my fellow GM fans. This poem is an expression of my profound admiration. adoration, and respect for him I don't know him personally, but I guess, this poem may somehow befit his personality and character. GEORGE Michael will pay tribute to John Lennon and Elvis Presley on his new album.

The 40-year-old singer will release Patience - which includes a track called John And Elvis - in March.

The song, devoted to the two musical legends, sees the former Wham! star playing a piano once owned by Lennon which he bought at auction for Ł1.5million.

George's new album will be released on Sony, despite the star once vowing never to work for them again.

He was left with a multi-million-pound legal bill nine years ago after losing a High Court battle over his 15-year contract.

His new single - which hasn't got a release date yet - is called Amazing. Music Week reports that the track has "strong vocals, an infectious rhythm and a singer who has rediscovered his pop sensibility".

Last year I went to see George for the first time in Paris on oct 9th in the wonderful Bercy.
I really enjoyed the concert, it was the first time I saw George Michael..., you must know I've been a fan since I was 14 y old !...and I'm now 35 !!! The show was amazing and George was-still is my eternal hero!!!
Now....still, I'm looking sooo many times on YOU TUBE, to feel that vibe from that night again, there are a few video's from October 9, that I can see, but it's not enough for me !!!I'm soooo desperate to see the full concert from that night again !!!!

Indeed, I'm not an American idol viewer or fan. But because of George Michael I've no choice but to watch it just to see him perform on the said show.

He's amazing, so elegant in his suit, adorable, and foremost gorgeous. In my opinion, his rendition of his Praying for Time sounded beautiful(ly). The fact that he has a cold, he really did a superb job.

I am new to this site, but after seeing mr Michael on Tuesday I just needed to find a way of speaking to others who were there to say how brilliant was he!

I have loved him since I was 9 yrs old, and I went to see him in WHAM, but never thought I would get to see him solo, it was one of the best nights of my life and I have yet to come down !

How talented is he hey, he sounds amazing(soory for the pun!) and could knock spots of any singer around today, can't see OASIS et all doing this in 25yrs time and still sounding and looking as good as George did the other night, but hey i'm biased.

The extra songs, especially the one with Mutya was fantastic, like I say words fail me he was that good, the atmosphere was brilliant and I have no voice left at all, my hips also lost a few inches due to all the dancing !

Monday 4th was amazing. Although it was the first concert on this tour I'd been to I have seen him many times on Faith & cover to cover tour, wham! and other concerts such as Net Aid, Nelson Mandela, Unplugged and loads more. Monday night at NEC was the most unbelievable show I have ever seen in my life.

London retailers were the first to hear brand new tracks from George Michael's
upcoming album, Patience last week.

Shop keepers at London's Queensway Whiteley's were treated to a special
playback session attended by George himself. Among the tracks heard were
George's planned first single, Amazing along with an atmospheric tribute to
John Lennon and Elvis Presley titled John And Elvis, which finds George
playing the piano formerly owned by Lennon for which he paid a whopping Ł1.5

"It is a strong record. We heard seven tracks and three are really strong,"

challenge is going to be getting him across to a broad range of ages, but

Nie mogę dojśc do siebie po środowym koncercie Georga Michaela. Boże jaki kosmos Chciałabym móc zobaczyć to jeszcze raz. Gdy tylko George pojawił się na scenie ludzie siedzący na trybunach wstali z miejsc i już nie usiedli do końca trwającego 2h występu. Widownia bawiła się wspaniale, tańczyła, klaskała w rytm kolejnych przebojów i śpiewała razem z artystą. Przy piosence "Edge of heaven" George podzielił widownię na 3 cześci, prawa strona śpiewała "Yeah yeah yeah", lewa "nananananana", a środek "yeah yeah yeah yeah". Ludzie podśpiewywali później cały motyw wracając z koncertu do domów George Michael potwierdził, że jest genialnym piosenkarzem (na żywo śpiewa nawet lepiej niż na płycie) i wspaniałym, uroczym i charyzmatycznym człowiekiem, nawiązał znakomity kontakt z publicznością i zafundował jej spektakl, który każdy z uczestników spominać będzie zapewne przez lata. Ludzie na trybunach tupali nogami co przypominało trochę tętent koni, ale w końcu koncert był na terenie Warszawskiego Toru Wyscigów Konnych Na bis zaśpiwał "Freedom" i "Careless whispers", a przed wykonaniem "Amazing" powiedział "I wrote this song for the man I love", a widownia przywitała te słowa brawami. Chyba najbardziej podobało mi się "Pray for time" i motyw zachodzącego słońca nad morzem. Jestem zachwycona i zauroczona.

George Michael - A Different Story

George Michael, eines der berühmtesten Pop-Idole seiner Generation, erzählt die Geschichte seiner Karriere. Erstmals spricht er über seine Mutter, die ihn lange unterstützte und viel zu früh starb.

Er kommentiert die Zeit und seine Auftritte mit Wham!. Thema ist natürlich auch der Skandal von 1999, als er wegen Exhibitionismus in einer öffentlichen Toilette in Los Angeles angeklagt wurde. George Michaels Leben steht unter ständiger Kontrolle der Öffentlichkeit.

Vor laufender Kamera erzählt George Michael von sich persönlich und lässt keine Frage unbeantwortet. 2004 gab George Michael bekannt, dass sein Album 'Patience', welches wieder bei Sony erschien, sein letztes kommerziell vertriebenes Werk sein würde. Nach einem Duettalbum, an dem zu der Zeit gearbeitet wurde, möchte er seine Musik nur noch kostenlos im Internet auf seiner Homepage zum Herunterladen zur Verfügung stellen. Die Singles 'Amazing' und 'Flawless' waren auch in Deutschland sehr erfolgreich. Der letzte Track des Albums, 'Through', ist ein Rückblick auf seine Karriere.

Freunde und Weggefährten wie Elton John, Sting, Mariah Carey, Simon Cowell, Geri Halliwell, Boy George oder Andrew Ridgeley kommen zu Wort. Und natürlich sind unzählige Hits wie 'Club Tropicana', 'Last Christmas', 'Freedom' oder 'Bad Boys' zu hören.

If I compaire our cd album complaint with your 'give him a break' complaint...I think George would prefer the cd complaint...as your is a right out insult for George Michael. Basically you are saying he is not up to some good stuff any more because of his life experiences!!! I think George would be offended as hell if he had read that. You are saying we can't expect much from him anymore....even not scrapping some old songs from his drawer together and give them to Chris Porter to make something out of them. So basically you are the one underestimating George...for not thinking he is capable to put together something exciting. Well...to me...George is a great artist who is supposed to be able to get some stuff on a record...he is earning millions, standing on the stage in front of 600000 people singing his heart out, he has won lots of prizes for his writing and singing skills, I don't think George himself doesn't think he's a fantastic artist!!...and all aside...he's been around for 25 years, he is a professional!!! Damn right one can expect this guy to put out an album which makes it worth my money!!! He's the pro!
If I were you, I'd better not let George hear that you think he's not just unfit to drive but also unfit to create good albums!!

I absolutely agree with what you wrote Dr_xenax and Georgeyogmichael. Guess these are facts.

"But what is amazing is that a George Michael with even 50% of what he used to be can beat most singers hands down." Really amazing and so true.

Well here goes, I went to see George Michael at the NEC on Sat 2nd Dec and experienced one of the happiest and most profound evenings of my life. I echo everything that freakoftheweak says about the concert. I was taken on a range of emotions during the show and really felt the intensity of First Time Ever I Saw Your Face. George’s voice touched my soul and I felt tears just flow from my eyes. Yet within 10 minutes I was losing myself in Too Funky and raising the roof along with everybody else. I had a real moment of clarity during the show when I acknowledged how incredibly happy and alive I felt watching & listening to George’s awesome performance and dancing & singing my heart out. I was experiencing such a high like never before. Sunday I was still on a high! (Coincidently we met one of the guitarists from the band in our hotel bar after the concert and he was incredibly charming!)

When George ended the night after a double encore with Freedom everyone (even the stewards) went crazy , when he left the stage and the band took their final bow the lights went up I turned to my sister words just didn’t seem needed and we just hugged each other we were both just so happy ! (My sister was not even that big a George fan, of course she is now!)

I realise when you are so happy and excited to be involved in something so special and significant to you its easy to get caught up in the heady atmosphere and heightened sensitivity and that general feel food factor that some concerts or shows can deliver but for me this show had a much deeper effect.

I realised that over the past year I had become someone who was not very happy and that made me sad, I realised that I have been deferring my happiness and that work and stress were the biggest factors in my life. I have a wonderful husband and three amazing children I am incredibly lucky but I had become very short sighted.

George has turned on my happiness button which had been paused for some time. It is now Monday morning and I am still buzzing, today I handed in my notice as a stressed out Project Manager and I feel rejuvenated and glad to welcome happiness back into my life.

I really hope this does not translate as some evangelical clap trap, I don’t think George is the next Messiah. I just wanted to share the special effect the evening had on me.

I am fortunate enough to be seeing him again at Wembley on 15th December and I will be so overjoyed to share the experience with my husband. Look out for me I will be wearing the same clothes I was wearing on Saturday, a long yellow print top and of course my new accessory …..a smile!

I am going to have the best Christmas ever and if George sings Different Corner on the 15th then I will be wired to the moon for days!

that's really cool! Too bad he couldn't go one higher, lol. But still, really cool.

So...

I went to both shows at Madison Square Gardens.

On Monday (the first night), I would say the show was good, not great. Chalk that up to people getting over the weekend, a low energy crowd, or perhaps to the fact that George, by his own admission, was running on 3 hours of sleep (having not been able to sleep at the prospect of playing to the tough NY crowd.)

In any case, the energy felt rather subdued, and I suppose he didn't really connect as well with the crowd, and didn't start to really let himself go until the second half when he sang Roxanne and Kissing a Fool.

Leaving the show, I felt a little bit disappointed that he hadn't elicited any goosebumps...and, quite frankly, having seen what George had done in '91 with Cover to Cover, I felt he hadn't lived up to his own magic.

So I decided I'd go back on Wednesday.

And let me tell you, I'm SO glad I did.

He was really in rare form last night. The vibe was completely different -- you definitely felt like people were there to party, and there seemed to be more devoted fans also...which I think helped George connect with the crowd.

Also, my seats were amazing. I was right on the floor, in front of the stage. So close, in fact, that I don't think I ever looked up at the video screen. You could basically just watch George run around.

He played the same set as he did on Monday, with the exception of adding Fantasy to the encore of the latter show. And let me tell you: he totally rocked out on Fantasy.

Completely let himself go and started to enjoy himself, dancing with his backup singers, pumping his hips back and forth in rhythm to the horn section in an act of simulated naughtiness.

For me, Fantasy was the real musical highlight of the show. (George's remark about John McCain's scrotum was the comedic highlight, I might add. He said, "If his cheeks have fallen that far, can you imagine his balls?")

Also got to see Rob Thomas and his wife going back and forth to the VIP section during intermission. A couple of ladies behind me started cat-calling him, but he ignored 'em!

And I saw Kenny near the bar before the show started. I think it might have been his parent's 50th wedding anniversary, because George wished a happy 50th anniversary to "Michael and Mavis," whoever they may be...

Anyway...a great show; great energy; a great performance....a true testament to George's talent and star-quality.

Stay tuned! On the 22.01.08, what would have been, Michael's 48th birthday, we have arranged to gather with friends, family & fans, at Milk Beach, Vaucluse, (where Michael's ashes were scattered in '9.

The time, will be, in the evening, around 6.30pm (weather permitting). We will pay homage, by laying the beautiful flags, which have flown around the world and landed here, in honour of Michael. All flags commemorate the respect for Michael, and have been signed with love and affection, by fans "Calling all Nations to Unite". We will remain at Milk Beach to witness the amazing sunset, whilst paying homage to Michael, until around 7.30pm.

Afterwards, as a special treat, we will gather at "The Star Bar", 600 George St., Sydney, to have a toast for Mike. We will premier the dvd of the Memorial Concert, together with, Richard Lowenstien's fabulous movie, Dogs in Space, and some INXS and Max Q, all on the big screen, which, will be amazing! This all being in celebration of Michael's birthday.

The cost is $20 per head (to cover cost of: flowers to be laid @ Milk Beach;Cinema hire; and finger food).
It will be a great evening wherein you will be entertained whilst helping Father Riley's ministry.
